Add to your fusing repertoire and expand your kiln knowledge in this intermediate level course focusing on patterns. Learn a variety of pattern bar techniques and how to incorporate these designs and techniques into fused platters or decorative wall hangings. Build upon your understanding of kiln programming, kiln theory, and glass properties to learn how glass changes form and reacts to different temperatures that will enhance your artistry.
Introduction to Fusing and Slumping or 24 hours of fusing experience with permission of the instructor is required.
Class tuition includes 1 session of open-studio time per student to be used during the 8-week course period. This will help you become familiar with the studio itself and learn the process of studio rental beyond class hours.
COVID-19 CLASS POLICY The health and safety of our students and instructors is still our most important priority. High touch surfaces and equipment are cleaned after every class and multiple times a day. Due to the nature of the glass making process, every studio in the building has state-of-the-art ventilation. Masks are required for all visitors in all indoor public spaces. Beginning September 22, all individuals over the age of 12 who are taking a class or workshop must be vaccinated except for people with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination. Guests who fall into one of these exemption categories must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the class/workshop start time.
