Dates: Jul 21, 22, 23, 24, 25

If you have never tried flameworking or want to have fun while you improve your current skill set, building strong foundational skills will help you in every way. Our class begins with a complete shop safety overview including setting up your regulators, hoses, and torch. Operating bench torches will be covered extensively as well as ventilation and glass handling/cutting. Annealing projects will be covered as well as any questions concerning personal studio set up.

We will cover small projects that build on each other to repeat and reaffirm muscle memory. Colorful glass and surface design techniques will be added slowly as you progress through a series of exercises designed to build a solid set of foundational skills. Small hollow techniques will be introduced early so you can decide if you prefer working hollow over solid. Your instructor will also have his bench roller slide set up for demonstrating scientific skills and how he builds and assembles his cups.

Learning, enjoyment, and fun are the goals of this class. All skill levels are welcome.
