Make It, Lose It, Cast It
When: , Jun 2 - Jun 6
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Dates:
Tuition $950.00
Instructor: Sarah Vaughn

Join me in a mad dash through kilncasting. This class will introduce you to different approaches for translating ideas into kilncast glass. We will focus on creating original, one-of-a-kind positives out of clay, wax, and through direct carving investment molds (not technically a positive, but we will get to that in the class). The resulting works will all be used to create cast glass objects. Through projects and demonstrations, you will be introduced to different ways to make positives and molds, how to achieve different looks with different types of glass, and considerations for safely finishing your projects after casting. You should plan to be challenged in this fast-paced class and will be encouraged to take advantage of open studio time after dinner.

While geared toward beginners and aspiring makers with little to no experience in kiln cast glass, students with casting experience will be welcome!
