Structural Flameworking
When: Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays and Fridays, Mar 3 - Mar 7
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Dates: Mar 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Tuition $900.00

Starting with basic borosilicate flameworking techniques, this class will focus on building structures in solid glass (with some forays into hollow objects). Working directly from scale drawings, you will learn to construct complex forms from small motifs. We will focus on the process of kiln shelf drawing as a way to create flat images and motifs.

You can expect to learn the fundamentals of borosilicate flameworking as well as techniques more specific to this method of building. Bring grand ideas, a pencil, and a drawing compass. Expect to learn through demos, illustrated hand-outs, slide shows, and hands-on practice.

Monday through Thursday, open studio is available for practicing skills learned in class from 6:00pm-9:00pm each day.

9 of 10 seats available.
